DISNEYLAND AFTER DARK: STAR WARS NITE

5.2.2023 - Disneyland, Anaheim - Star Wars Nite

On Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023, I attended my first-ever Disneyland After Dark event. It also happened to be the Star Wars Day celebration and being a huge fan of Star Wars, I thought it was the perfect first event. I went with some friends who also share the same excitement of Star Wars and overall had a great time. After Dark events have specialized menus, special character meet and greets, music and entertainment catered to the event, and much more. Other perks of attending included usually shorter wait times for some of the most popular rides at the park. Indiana Jones usually has a wait time of anywhere up to an hour but during the event, it was basically a complete walk-on. Another ride that was a complete surprise was Rise of the Resistance. It usually has a stand-by wait of 90 to 120 minutes but that night, it was completely empty up to when you start getting into the interior of the rebel hideout. Waited maybe 10-15 minutes and were on the escape vehicles trying to get to the escape pods.

Tickets for the event sold out almost instantly. It took only a few minutes for May 4th tickets to completely sell out. We were happy to be able to get any day and May 2nd was probably the best time for everyone in my group. This was a great first time and I definitely do want to go to another event. The next one that I am probably the most interested in is Oogie Boogie Bash which is a bit more difficult to secure tickets to so we’ll see what happens!
